On October 24, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center presented in Kyiv the text of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights translated into the Crimean Tatar language.
"For the first time in world history, the text of the main legal document of the UN - the Universal Declaration of Human Rights - has been translated into the Crimean Tatar language. The procedures will be carried out for this document to be registered in the UN," Head of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center Eskender Bariyev said, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

According to him, the registration of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights translated into the Crimean Tatar language will demonstrate "the subjectivity of the Crimean Tatar people."

As Bariyev noted, it is symbolic that 2019 was proclaimed the United Nations International Year of Indigenous Languages, in connection with which the Crimean Tatar Resource Center joined the UN Stand up for human rights action by releasing videos where the chapters of the basic UN document were recited in the Crimean Tatar language.
